NOT to be confused with the 2023 film directed by Hideaki Anno. This film borrows a lot from the darker elements of Showa era Kamen Rider, especially the BLACK manga. While divisive among fans, it's been stated that it was a favourite of creator Shotaro Ishinomori, being the closest to what he had originally envisioned the "Kamen Rider" character to be like.
